"Mona Luisa e' nata nel 1977 in Angola, ex colonia Portoghese; la guerra civile l'ha costretta a fuggire, ancora bambina, in Portogallo. Mona Luisa e' cresciuta alternando lunghi periodi in queste due nazioni. All'eta' di sedici anni si e' trasferita negli stati Uniti, a New York, dove ha studiato Sociologia, Storie delle Donne e Arte. Mona Luisa ha partecipato ad esposizioni collettive e individuali negli Stati Uniti, all' “Attleboro Museum of Art" di Boston (dove in due anni successivi ha vinto il primo e il terzo premio come artista emergente), alla Westwood Senior High School di Boston, alla "Muddy Cup" a Staten Island, NY, ed a Newport, Rhode Island. Mona Luisa vive attualmente a Roma, dedicandosi a tempo pieno alla pittura. Le sue opere sono pregne della cultura e delle tradizioni di tre diversi continenti".

Mona Luisa was born in 1977, in the ex-Portuguese colony of Angola. As a young girl, she was forced to move to Portugal by the still on-going Angolan civil war. She grew up alternating long periods of time between these two nations. At the age of 16, she moved to the US, where she studied Sociology, Women’s Studies, and Art. Mona Luisa has participated in both individual and collective exhibits; at the Westwood Senior High School where she received the Best Artist Award, at the Attleboro Museum of Art, where she won 1^st place in the student category her first year, and 3^rd place in the professional category her second year. At the ‘Women’s Sacred Art Festival’ in Newport, Rhode Island, and the Muddy Cup in Staten Island, New York. Mona Luisa currently lives in Rome. Her paintings embody the cultures and traditions of these three continents.
